This shirt turned out to be exactly what we wanted, the ideal shirt for any situation. The cut of the shirt fits numerous body types, and even though it’s a bit longer it still looks great on shorter individuals. The neckline is open a bit more than a traditional crew neck but we feel it strikes the perfect balance between conservative and aggressive. Wearers that were originally uncomfortable with the open neckline have become accustomed and now have a hard time wearing a traditional crew neck tee.
We decided on a fabric developed by Toray called Cebonner which is a special nylon fabric they created that looks more like a natural fiber than it does a synthetic. The fabric is incredibly durable. The first sample I received two years ago, and have worn on many climbing and backpacking trips, has yet to wear a hole in it or lose its shape. The fabric does pill, but personally I don’t mind because I think it adds a bit of character. I dry my shirts on medium heat which did cause about 1.5cm of shrinkage in the length and over the years has taken away some of the softness of the t-shirt. It is recommended you refrain from putting in the dryer but it isn’t a deal breaker.
The fabric does behave a bit differently. When I pull it out of my backpack it will appear super wrinkly but as soon as I put it on and it takes on a bit of body heat the wrinkles quickly disappear.
